Amy is a crossfitter, runner, and ex-collegiate softball player. She first came to us with Achilles tendinopathy and calf cramping following high volume box jumps and running which was easily addressed in a single dry needling and Graston session. A few weeks later, a combination of a flare-up of an old elbow injury along with an acute strain of her upper trap led to her developing a nerve pain radiating from her shoulder to hand. With upper limb nerve tension tests we were able to identify the affected nerve. We needled along the nerve pathway and applied intramuscular electrical stimulation through the placed needles. Upon removal, Amy experienced full and immediate resolution of all radiating pain. Amy has since returned to all previous activities, namely CrossFit, running, soccer, and cycling, with no pain or limitations.
